Losing Record? 0-5 start? Worst division in the NFL? All that doesn’t matter, because the New York Giants sit alone a top of the NFC East with a win against the Seattle Seahawks.
With Daniel Jones injured hamstring leaving him out of the game, it was a win by committee.
Colt McCoy was called to take the spot as the quarterback for the Giants, and he threw for 105 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Wayne Gallman took the reigns on the ground, rushing for 135 yards on 16 carries. Alfred Morris rushed for a touchdown, and the Giants shocked Seattle with a 17-12 win.
While McCoy didn’t have an amazing game, he avoided making big mistakes and made enough plays to be able to lead the Giants to win.
The giants defense was able to contribute a lot as well, having two takeaways from Russell Wilson, cornerback Darney Holmes intercepting once and defensive end Niko Lalos recovering a fumble.
“These guys do a great job” Giants coach Joe Judge said. “They’ve done everything we’ve asked them to do, and they’ve done it as well as they possibly can. And you see the results come in.”
